This year’s Dorset Business Awards consists of 12 categories in total which are designed to cover achievements from the last 12 months. Our categories are deliberately crafted to be a relevant to the business community and reflect Dorset’s incredible talent and diversity. Eligibility

The UK Health Insurance Investing in Dorset Award is open to businesses of any size which have a BH/DT postcode or are based in Dorset.

Description

Judges are looking for inspirational examples of digital innovation, technological robustness and creative originality in any project undertaken within the last 12 months. Entrants will be able to provide detailed examples of their work that demonstrate the extent of their creative thinking and digital expertise while showcasing how they have achieved the main objectives of the original brief and specification. They will also need to provide detailed information on the performance of the project to the client and the intended audience.

Eligibility

The Creative and Digital Impact Award is open to businesses of any size which have a BH/DT postcode or are based in Dorset.

Description

Family businesses must be innovative, adaptable and have a healthy culture in place – this Award is designed to recognise and celebrate that success.
The family business must submit the entry form. Nominations from a customer, supplier or employee are welcome and if the family business is nominated by a third party they will be contacted by Dorset Chamber of Commerce & Industry and will be encouraged to submit an entry form.

This award plays tribute to the success and innovative approaches of Dorset Export companies. Extending across all sectors this award is a celebration of the contributions Dorset exporters have made to both the County and International economy.

Eligibility

The Dorset Export Award is open to any Dorset business which has a BH/DT postcode or is based in Dorset, including multi-nationals or their subsidiaries with a major presence in the county, to small private companies. They must have been trading for at least three years and have a record of international trade during that period.

Outstanding Contribution to Apprenticeships

Sunseeker has recognised the benefits of recruiting and training apprentices for over 35 years.   With c.100 apprentices currently under training we are consistently able to source exceptional talent to deliver our operational and strategic objectives.   This award will recognise the effort and investment that Dorset businesses are making in Apprentice recruitment and training so that even more business leaders can see the true value of investing in young people creating further opportunity for candidates and companies in Dorset.

Eligibility

This Award is open to any business with a BH/DT postcode or who is based in the county of Dorset who currently employs an Apprentice or Apprentices enrolled to an SFA (Skill Funding Agency) or Apprenticeship Levy funded standard or framework at level 2 or higher.

Entry criteria

The judges will be looking for companies showcasing an outstanding commitment to Apprenticeships.  This doesn’t mean that only those with large intake volumes or a long history will have an advantage.  What we are really looking for is those companies that have taken a risk employing apprentices perhaps at a time of austerity.  Those companies that actively pipeline apprentices into succession plans.  Those companies that apprentices are proud to work for.  Those companies that really believe in the development of people.
