Eligibility
The Entrepreneur of the Year Award is open to any company, team or individual which has a BH/DT postcode or is based in Dorset.
The Company can be a:
- Sole Trader
- Ltd Company
- Partnerships
- Social Enterprise
- Charity
Description of the Award from Sponsors
To qualify as BU Entrepreneur of 2009; the individual or team must able to demonstrate the realisation of their Entrepreneurial vision and how it has contributed to the economic and social well being of Dorset.
Application process
Entry can be either online or paper based.
- Online entry
If you are entering on-line you will have the ability to create an account and will therefore be able to save your entry and log in at a later date to complete if required. Complete the entry form on the right hand side which will also give you the opportunity to upload files if you wish.
- Paper-based entry
For paper based entries please download the Word Document and send your completed entry form and any accompanying documentation to:

Supporting documentation

Closing date for entries is Friday 18 September 2009. Please note this date is final and will not be extended.
Judging process
Those companies short listed will be invited to present a 15 minute presentation with the judging panel either at Bournemouth University or the judging panel may choose to visit the companies at their offices, whichever is deemed more appropriate by the panel. Presentations should be based on question 2 and can include supporting evidence if relevant. This will be followed by 10 minutes of Q&A.
Judging will commence late September early October 2009.
Finalists will be invited to attend the Dorset Business Awards Gala Dinner on Friday 11th December 2009 at the Lighthouse in Poole as a guest of their Sponsor.
