Eligibility
The Excellence in Customer Service Award is open to any company which has a BH/DT postcode or is based in Dorset.
The Award is not restricted to any specific size of company, industry or sector and businesses can nominate themselves or be nominated by customers, clients or suppliers.
Description of the Award from Sponsors
This Award will recognise the business that can demonstrate across its practices its commitment to providing the very highest level of customer service and in doing so be described as truly customer focused.
Application process
Entry can be either online or paper based.
- Online entry
If you are entering on-line you will have the ability to create an account and will therefore be able to save your entry and log in at a later date to complete if required. Complete the entry form on the right hand side which will also give you the opportunity to upload files if you wish. - Paper-based entry

If posting your entry we strongly advise you to send it recorded delivery.
Supporting Documentation
The judges will expect to see documents to support your entry, in particular client survey or feedback forms and any internal written policy. You may wish to support your entry by giving details of testimonials from your customers. The judges may wish to contact any such customers as part of their decision making.
The application may be accompanied by other supporting evidence (eg photographs, press cutting and endorsements, product literature) if you so wish.
Site visits will be made to short listed companies by representatives of the judging panel.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to give a short presentation to a judging panel in late September / early October 2010.
Closing date for entries is Friday 17th September 2010. Please note this date is final and will not be extended.
Judging process
The judges will be looking for entrants who have listened and responded to customers’ needs in order to gain a thorough understanding of their customer base.
They will also be judged on the initiatives they have put in place to integrate customer in to all aspects of the business – this will undoubtedly include staff training, communication and management.
Judging will commence late September early October 2010.
Finalists will be invited to attend the Dorset Business Awards Gala Dinner on Thursday 9th December 2010 at the Lighthouse in Poole as a guest of their Sponsor.
