Finalists for the 2011 Daily Echo-backed Dorset Business Awards are set to gather at Hoburne Park in Christchurch on Monday November 14 for an exclusive drinks reception to celebrate reaching the penultimate stage of the prestigious competition.
This year’s Awards have generated significant interest from within the region’s business community and entries for the nine categories have come from a wide variety of organisations across the region. The exclusive drinks reception, sponsored by Hoburne Holiday Parks, will enable Finalists to celebrate their achievements, meet award sponsors, find out about the Awards Gala Dinner and get together with all the other 2011 finalists.
Rosie Kennar, chairman at Hoburne, says: “Hoburne is a long-standing Dorset business celebrating its centenary next year. Our story began at the venue for this reception, Hoburne Park in Christchurch, when my great-grandfather bought what was then just farmland at auction on May 7 1912. The main entertainment hall, where we will be hosting the Dorset Business Awards event, has recently been named Club 1912 in honour of our anniversary. We unveiled the refurbished clubhouse, which now includes Club 1912, a stylish contemporary restaurant, new fitness room, children’s soft play area and state-of-the-art conference room for hire, earlier this year.”
Shirley Ewart, from Dorset Chamber of Commerce & Industry, who organise the Dorset Business Awards, adds: “From a record number of entries, 27 excellent businesses and 3 schools will be shortlisted for Dorset Business Awards and we will be pleased to welcome them all to an exclusive Finalists’ drinks reception. We wish to thank Hoburne Holiday Parks for hosting and sponsoring this event and look forward to meeting all 2011 Finalists on November 14 ahead of the Gala Dinner at the end of the month (November 24).”
Finalists will be announced by the end of October.
The Awards are also backed by the south’s leading radio station Wave 105 and supported by the Dorset Echo. To purchase tickets for the Gala Dinner please contact Shirley Ewart on 01202 714812.
