A word from the Sponsors

The three Councils are working together to encourage productive links between local schools and employers. This will hopefully have a number of mutual benefits; perhaps assist recruitment, assist in the retention of skills within the area and encourage a spirit of entrepreneurship in Dorset.

Description of the Award from sponsors

An educational award to the firm that has established a positive partnership with a local school is entitled "Bridging the Gap". A reward will also be given to the school.

Entry Criteria/Eligibility

It is up to the partnership school to supply the entry. This is done by filling in the partnership companies details in the panel opposite, and then answering some questions on the following page.

We would require each entry to be sponsored by the partnership school. We will be looking for a company that has established an ongoing positive relationship with a school in Dorset, Bournemouth or Poole. This might take the form of regular work-experience, company visits or project work.

Supporting Documentation

Uploads: We will require the contact details within the school and the company being sponsored for the award. Appropriate times/dates for a visit to see the partnership at work.

Entry Deadline

Closing date for nominations is Friday 6th October 2006.

(It will be advantageous to be able to visit the short listed companies with a representative of the school in October).

The 12th Annual Dorset Business Awards, organised for the very first time by Dorset Business (the Chamber of Commerce and Industry) are now closed for entries.

Judging is taking place during the month of October and if you have entered an award you will be contacted directly by the awards sponsors to let you know if you have been chosen as a finalist.

Finalists will be invited to attend the Awards Gala Dinner which will take place on Wednesday 6th December 2006 at the Pavilion Theatre, Bournemouth at 7pm. If you require any further details please contact Shirley Ewart at Dorset Business on 01202 714802.
