Eligibility

The Dorset Tourism Award is open to any business, visitor attraction, or event with a BH/DT postcode or which is based in Dorset (including accommodation providers, restaurants, transport companies, tourism venues, festivals etc) which are accessible on a seasonal or year round basis. You do not have to be a Member of Dorset Chamber of Commerce & Industry to enter.

Description of the Award from the Sponsor

The Dorset Tourism Award celebrates the success of one of Dorset’s most vibrant sectors, Tourism, Leisure & Hospitality. It will showcase our County’s finest people, businesses, events and attractions for their contributions and success within the County of Dorset.

Entry criteria

Does your company:

• • Build effective relationships with visitors and use innovative methods to encourage retention and referral
• • Ensure visitor and market satisfaction through impeccable service delivery
• • Demonstrate commitment to improving product or service quality by establishing effective product improvement
• • Have proactive promotional and marketing communication avenues to showcase the business and Dorset
• • Promote the wider County Tourism products, local produce and the Community

Application Process

Entry can be either on-line or paper-based

Online entry

If you are entering on-line you will have the ability to save your entry and log in at a later date to complete if required: Enter the Dorset Tourism Award.

Paper-based entry

For paper based entries please download the Dorset Tourism Award Entry Form. Please send your completed entry form and accompanying documentation Recorded Delivery to the person named on the entry form.

Supporting documentation

Please provide evidence in support of this nomination where appropriate (i.e. supporting evidence could include copies of certificates, photographs, press cuttings and endorsements for your entry).

Judging process

Closing date for entries is Friday 14th September 2012.  Please note this date is final and will not be extended.

All information will be treated confidentially and  will only be circulated amongst the judges. It will be advantageous for the judge(s) to be able to make an informal visit to the short listed companies during late September /early October 2012. Please record any dates during September when this will not be convenient (if appropriate) on the entry form.

Finalists will be invited to attend the following two events as a guest of their Sponsor:

The Meet the Finalists and Sponsors event at 6.00pm-8.00pm on Monday 19th November 2012 (venue to be decided

The Dorset Business Awards Gala Dinner at 7pm on Thursday 29th November 2012 at the Lighthouse in Poole as a guest of their Sponsor.
