Eligibility
The Dorset Exporter of the Year Award is open to any Dorset business which has a BH/DT postcode or is based in Dorset, including multi-nationals or their subsidiaries with a major presence in the county, to small private companies. They must have been trading for at least three years and have a record of international trade during that period.
Description of the Award from Sponsors
This award is given to the company which has shown a marked increase in its international exporting activity over the last 3 years. Applications should be supported by evidence of increased international business, together with a summary of the strategy that resulted in this successful growth.
Entry criteria
- Commitment to International Trade
- Increased export turnover or sales into new markets
- Innovative product/services being exported or evidence of versatility, imagination and persistence
- Training staff in winning/delivering export business
Entry can be either online or paper based.

If you are entering on-line you will have the ability to create an account and will therefore be able to save your entry and log in at a later date to complete if required. Complete the entry form on the right hand side which will also give you the opportunity to upload files if you wish.

Supporting documentation
Supporting evidence of increased international business is required. This may be confirmation of orders, financial summaries or report and accounts. We will also require a copy of the strategy/business plan that resulted in the increased business.
Additional supporting evidence including photographs, press cuttings and endorsements may be included for your entry.
All information will be treated confidentially and only be circulated amongst the judges.
Closing date for entries is Friday 17 September 2010. Please note this date is final and will not be extended.
Judging process
Judging will commence late September early October 2010.
Finalists will be invited to attend the Dorset Business Awards Gala Dinner on Thursday 9th December 2010 at the Lighthouse in Poole as a guest of their Sponsor
