Eligibility

This Engineering & Electrical Apprenticeship Award is open to:

  • Engineering and Electrical Apprentices in (at least) the 2nd year of a Government Funded Engineering or Electrical Apprenticeship or
  • Years 1-3 of an advanced Engineering or Electrical Apprenticeship

The Apprenticeship must be current, with the 2nd year (at the very least) commencing September 2010 and the Training Provider must have a BH/DT postcode or be based in Dorset.
 
The Training Provider must submit the entry form having ensured that it has been completed by the Training Provider, the Nominated Employer and the Nominated Apprentice in full.

Description of the Award from Sponsors

The Engineering & Electrical Apprenticeship Award will be presented to the Apprentice who has achieved outstanding occupational progress, has shown practical and theoretical ability and has a positive approach to employment and personal abilities.  

Entry criteria

The judges will base their decision on the Apprentice’s contribution to the business they work in, coupled with their dedication to excel in achieving relevant qualifications. The Apprentice's contribution to the business they work in.

Please send your completed entry form and accompanying documentation Recorded Delivery marked "Engineering & Electrical Apprenticeship Award Entry" for the attention of the person named on the entry form.

Supporting documentation

Please provide evidence in support of this nomination where appropriate (i.e. supporting evidence could include copies of certificates, photographs, press cuttings and endorsements for your entry).

Judging process

Closing date for entries is Friday 9th September 2011.  Please note this date is final and will not be extended.

All information will be treated confidentially and  will only be circulated amongst the judges. It will be advantageous for the judge(s) to be able to visit the short listed Apprentices at     their place of work in September 2011. Please record any dates during September that the Apprentice will not be available (if appropriate) on the entry form.

Finalists will be invited to attend the following two events as a guest of their Sponsor:

  • The Meet the Finalists and Sponsors event at 6.30pm-8.30pm on Monday 14th November 2011 (venue to be decided
  • The Dorset Business Awards Gala Dinner at 7pm on Thursday 24th November 2011 at the Lighthouse in Poole as a guest of their Sponsor.
