Eligibility
The Linking with Schools Award is open to any middle or secondary schools and their partnership businesses who have a BH/DT postcode or are based in Dorset.
This Award can be entered by either the school or the business partnership.
Description of Award from the Sponsors
An educational award to the business that has established a positive partnership with a local school is entitled "Linking with Schools". The winning business will be presented with a Dorset Business Award.
Entry criteria
We would require each entry to be supported by the school and the partnership business.
We will be looking for a business that has established an ongoing positive relationship with a middle or secondary school in Dorset. This might take the form of regular work-experience, company visits or project work.
A business that has established a commercial relationship with a school that represents the main activity of the business would not be eligible for this award.
Application process
Entry can be either online or paper based.
- Online entry
If you are entering on-line you will have the ability to create an account and will therefore be able to save your entry and log in at a later date to complete if required. Click on the "enter now" button and choose the award category you would like to enter.
- Paper-based entry
For paper based entries click on the "enter now" button where you can then download the relevant Award entry form. Please send your completed entry form and accompanying documentation Recorded Delivery marked "Linking with Schools Award Entry" to the person named on the entry form.
Supporting Documentation
Additional supporting evidence including photographs, press cuttings and endorsements may be included for your entry.
Judging process
Closing date for entries is Friday 9th September 2011. Please note this date is final and will not be extended. Judging will commence late September 2011.
It may be necessary for a photograher to visit the short listed businesses with a representative of the school in October 2011 to see the partnership at work. The photographs will be used to showcase the Finalists on the evening of the Dorset Business Awards Gala Dinner.
Finalists will be invited to attend the following two events as a guest of their Sponsor:
- The Meet the Finalists and Sponsors event at 6.30pm-8.30pm on Monday 14th November 2011 (venue to be decided)
- The Dorset Business Awards Gala Dinner at 7pm on Thursday 24th November 2011 at the Lighthouse in Poole as a guest of their Sponsor.
