Trophies shape up for business awards event

Oct 27, 2011

The finishing touches are being added to the prestigious trophies for this year’s Daily Echo-backed Dorset Business Awards ahead of the glittering Gala Awards Dinner next month (November 24) hosted by the well-known actress and comedian Debra Stephenson.

The 2011 ‘Oscar’ is sponsored by Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital and is being designed by Mark Greengrass of Arboretti. Every year, the trophy incorporates a local stone base, with Purbeck marble being used this year to represent the Dorset theme. Each year the top of the award is altered to create a unique trophy for the current winner. The design of the top of the trophy will be kept a closely guarded secret until the Awards evening when nine firms, one apprentice and one school will be crowned as winners from the strong list of shortlisted finalists.

The Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital Director David McNair said: “As the largest not-for-profit provider of healthcare in the UK, we have more than 15,000 health experts who help people to get healthy and stay healthy, at home and at work. At Nuffield Health we have a strong understanding of the impact of employee wellbeing on organisational performance and we decided to sponsor the award trophies this year because all the businesses nominated for these awards highlight best practice across the county. We look forward to meeting the winners.”
