Description of the Award

An educational award to the business that has established a positive partnership with a local school is entitled "Linking with Schools". An award will also be presented to the partnership school that nominates the winning business.

Entry Criteria/Eligibility

It is up to the partnership school to supply the entry.

This is done by filling in the partnership company's details in the panel opposite, and then answering some questions on the following page.

We would require each entry to be submitted by the partnership school.

We will be looking for a business that has established an ongoing positive relationship with a school (including a middle school) in Dorset, Bournemouth or Poole. This might take the form of regular work-experience, company visits or project work.

However, a business that has established a commercial relationship with a school that represents the main activity of the business would not be eligible for this award.

Judging

We will require the contact details within the school and the business being sponsored for the award.

Appropriate times/dates for a visit to see the partnership at work.

Judging will commence on late September early October 2008

It will be advantageous to be able to visit the short listed businesses with a representative of the school in September or October 2008.

Closing date for nominating is Friday 12 September 2008

A word from the Sponsors

The three Councils are working together to encourage productive links between local schools and business. This will hopefully have a number of mutual benefits; perhaps assist recruitment, assist in the retention of skills within the area and encourage a spirit of entrepreneurship in Dorset.
